PANACEA
Herbal First Aid Remedy Kit
Our PANACEA Herbal First Aid Remedy Kits are filled with a bounty of herbal remedies for use around the home as a family herbalist. Each herbal remedy is labeled with suggested uses making our kit accessible and quick to use. We've included our favorite remedies that we use both in the Apothecary and at home and have chosen them for their ease and multiplicities of uses.
YARROW Achillea millefolium ∆ 1/2 ounce Glycerite ∆
For rough warriors as well as gentle-hearted healers
An anti-inflammatory, Yarrow is good for excess bleeding both internal and external, for fevers and to induce sweating. You can also use Yarrow for nosebleeds, hemorrhoids, and apply a bit of Yarrow to a skin where a bruise is forming for extra relief and reduction of swelling. It also helps to ease spasmodic coughs, aids digestion, and cramping such as during menstruation. A drop of Yarrow under the tongue is great to help reduce stress and bring a state of relaxation after you've administered your first aid remedies to upset kids, partners, and neighbors.
SACRED BASIL Ocimum Sanctum ∆ 1/5 ounce Glycerite ∆
To the open the heart and steady the spirit.
Use Sacred Basil to adapt to stressful situations, recover from a shock, and for general crankiness. Great also for indigestion, nausea, and prevention of or alleviation of vomiting. Sacred Basil is also good for fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and migraines. Use externally on insect bites, stings, and swelling.
SLIPPERY ELM Ulmus rubus ∆ Powdered Herb ∆
To slicken what is stuck and has run amuck.
Slippery Elm is an excellent ally in healing the gut, for diarhea, indigestion, constipation, and ulcers. Soothing for sore throats and coughs. Use Slippery Elm when recovering from a long illness to rebuild strength. Topically, Slippery Elm can be applied to boils, wounds, rashes, eczema, and to help draw out splinters.
LAVENDER Lavandula officinalis ∆ 1/8 ounce Essential Oil ∆
To sooth from the infection of stress, colds, and the 'flu.
Lavender is a classic remedy for many dis-eases including the 'flu, coughs, runny noses, and stress. A relaxing remedy, Lavender is great for insomnia, migraines, headaches, and vertigo. Stimulating to the immune-system, Lavender is anti-bacterial and anti-viral. Use topically for sunburn, insect bites, and bruising.
WITCH HAZEL Hamamelis virginiana ∆ 1/2 ounce Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel ∆
To cleanse and protect.
A drying astringent, Witch Hazel can be used as a base to distribute essential oils and to make poultices with powdered herbs and extracts. Use for inflamed, irritated skin and rashes, eczema, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, insect bites, stings, broken veins, bruises, and minor scrapes (combine with Slippery Elm and Lavender Essential Oil for extra relief). Use as a diluted wash (1 part Witch Hazel to 10 parts distilled water) for inflamed eyes.
ARNICA Arnica montana ∆ 30c Homeopathic Pellets ∆
When you feel like you've been pummeled and pulled.
A powerful and incredibly useful homeopathic remedy! For physical trauma such as bruises, swellings, sports injuries, shocks to the system, post-surgery recovery, soreness, aches and pain, labor and childbirth.
GOODNESS GREEN ∆ .15 ounce Herbal Salve ∆
A general purpose green smear for the many things that bring us to tears.
An all-around useful salve for topical use on skin complaints such as rashes, bites, stings, bruises, and sunburns.
Hawthorn is helpful in getting folks back in their bodies and out of states of shock and upset. Addressing emotional imbalances, Hawthorn is a herb that opens the heart to love and healing.

Our remedies, as described above, come in glass bottles, except for our salve which comes in a plastic lip balm container. Our entire remedy kit is packaged in a 5.25" x 3.25" x 1" metal hinged-lid tin with a clear plastic lid.
Essential oils last indefinitely.
Glycerites are best used within 2 years.
The powdered Slippery Elm is best used within the year.
The salve is best used within 6 months.
