Most afternoons between 2 and 3 o'clock, a group of women gather at my mother's house for merienda, the afternoon coffee and snack. Ranging in age from 75 to 87, they've known each other for a lifetime, they're all widows, and they tell stories that would make you blush.
During one of my visits the conversation rolled around to sex, as it often does, and then to vaginal dryness and the discomfort it can cause. Hay yerbas para eso Becki? Are there herbs for that? But of course! It was then that this product was commissioned and named: "Call it El Nido del Rey (Nest of the King) so I can remember my husband!" They all had a good laugh about that one, but the name stuck.
El Nido del Rey is made with an intimate blend of herbs infused into olive oil: Organic Damiana leaf, organic Red Clover blossoms, Mexican Wild Yam root and organic St. John's Wort. A touch of beeswax holds it all together. The merienda ladies give it their seal of approval.
Note: This product contains no preservatives, no essential oils, so keep in a cool place or refrigerate if using it infrequently.
